then off to santiago by train for 2 nights.

February 27 heading to Varadero and then off to Trinidad and back to Varadero for the trip back to Canada and the snow. But at least there will be a month of sun, sand and salsa!!!! 94 more sleeps but who is counting.

Well, I don't do much "game" fishing and ocean fishing is too much like work....who wants to reel for hours ?

I tend to freshwater fish....as here at home, I eat what I catch.

Personally it is a little irritating to pay $300 USD to charter a boat and ocean fish for a day when you can do a week of fishing in the river mouths of Venezuela for about $1500 CAD (about $1100 USD) all in


What I am saying is.......I aint paying for no charter ..jajaja

Found phone no for info: Tickets are sold at the Rumbos Cuba tourism bureaus or on the bus for just U.S. $4.00. They are valid for only one day and include guide service.

It's so great that you've run with this meet in Cuba in Feb. Well done! I'm doubly excited about returning now - to re-visit wonderful Cuba and also to meet some like-minded Cubamaniacs! Glad you'll appreciate the vegemite sandwich.. you're too nice. I've managed to acquire a special bottle of Aussie wine too - and a way to bring it (along with a bottle for my Cuban friends) safely.
Really looking forward to meeting you, Lisa, Jack and the rest of the group. I'm a little hazy about arrangements for that night and the bus trip, but I'll ring you on the 19th and find out more.

is a website that lists acts and where they are playing in Habana and other cities. As it is Cuba, this is subject to constant change....so check the locale before you go to see the act...or go to the Hotel Nacional to see if they have up to date information.

btw...my ratb*stard friend called to say he is leaving Friday for a week of R & R between jobs. He wanted to know if I wanted to go, but I already called in sick for a week when I went the last week of January ;D Being serously sick for a week this close together might make my boss more suspicious than he already is ;)
