Cuban fishing report thread?????????????

The fishing report thread is great.....but!
The thread starts: have you been fishing in cuba? tell us a CUBAN FISH STORY!!

Currently there are 7 pages in the thread. I scanned it quickly and the last report was on page 2. Then there are 5 pages of talk about telescoping rods, how to upload pictures, why smilies are not working, etc.......
Is anyone out there in favor of a REPORT thread that is only REPORTS? Questions can be PM or another thread. The moderator could delete or move anything else. I don't want to sound like a jerk and I agree that all the off topic talk is important but if I want to learn about telescoping rods I would expect to search for a thread titled "telescoping rod questions".

Any thoughts?

tinpusher,there aren't 5 pages of non relevant banter, out of the 121 posts to that thread, there are perhaps a dozen that are not fishing stories.

There are a few posts with regards to equipment to bring ie telescopic rod, which is in fact relevant.

How to upload pictures is important for those who have fishing stories to tell and "pictures to prove it" ;)

Smilies, sometimes we digress ;)

You are right it is relevant but it is not a report. Yes how to upload a picture is important and hopefully someday I will need to know how. To me a fishing report is a fishing report. I am just saying it would be nice to go to a thread and see nothing but reports. Date, place, species, equipment used, etc.... Why is there a subject field. We could just post everything under Cuban fishing report after all it all has to do with Cuban fishing. Just trying a little constructive criticism here. :)

PS. If my Smilie did not come through let me know as I can always look under Cuban Fishing Reports to find out why.

Tin, fishing reports include dicussion about all the things you mentioned and more.


You can try starting another being specific as to content, I wish you luck and tight lines ;)

Ok let me start one, sticky it to the top and give me privileges to delete non-report replies. Is there anyone else out there with an opinion on this? If I am the only one who would like to see a dedicated reports thread I will admit that I am wrong and quietly slink back under a rock. ;D

btw,if you look around in the forum, you will see that most folks don't post their reports there, they just start a new thread ;D

As jack said, you can always start a new thread, but I agree that it would be nice to have a Fishing Report thread that was a Fishing Report thread and not one where other questions were placed. But you have to understand that a fishing BB you or I may frequent and participate on is different than a BB on this and many other websites that are not specifically fish related. As you have seen in reviewing this fishing site, most of the Posters people who vacation in Cuba and are occasional anglers and not serious anglers - many are not knowledgeable, but want to be, and as you and I know, the only way to become a good angler is to keep at it.
