Hi, CubaManiacs! With the great help of this forum,
I'm planning a non-inclusive, all exclusive, action packed week on the island. I've secured my air, auto, bike equipment, just need a lead on a decent marina, or business that can accomodate my water travel.
Has anyone seen a Hydrofoil for rent down there? I wouldn't say no to a whaler either. A 16 ft. tin boat with a 50 horse outboard will suffice. At the very least I'll need a good snorkel and big flippers.
Hope to hear from experience.

No hydrofoil, no Whaler, no tin boat - to the best of my knowledge the boat rental you are seeking is not available anyplace in Cuba. Snorkling gear in poor condition is available in a few locations.

Bring plenty of US dollars as you are in for an awakening. :o

..great.

I talked to a Cuban nurse at work that said I could rent a resort's catamaran and pick up her brother-in-law to go for a tour. He's a local fisherman. It would work, but,
unfortunately, I need horsepower, and maneuverability, for
the flats, and maybe rivers. A good plan 'C'.
Thanks, now I'm leaning towards plan B(elize) and if I go,
I'll post my notes on one of it's forums.

p.s.s. Anyone's rental experiences in Cuba are appreciated.

Crow.

That is true. if you are a guest at many of the all-inclusive resorts then you are welcome to all the non-motorized recreational equipment that includes catamarans, paddleboats and windsurfers. Have fun in Belize! 8)
