Fishing License

I'll be staying at a resort in Holguin Cuba. Do you need a fishing license to surf cast and fish the local ponds? If so, how much would one cost?

I tried to find the answer to that question last year and got different responses form different sources. I wrote to the Cuban Consulate in Ottawa Canada and they told me I did not require a license. I fished in Cuba for two weeks and nobody asked me to produce anyting except dollar bills. I brought a copy of the correspondance just in case though. I hope this helps. If you do go on a charter and they say you need a license make sure it is legitimate and not a cash grab by the crew on the boat.
