I have read various reports or permit fishing in Cuba. Is there a specifc area that is good or consistent. If so, where, when and the contact info/email address would be appreciated! Thanks [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Of the reports you've read, here is another one for your and other's edification.
1. Yes, there are permit in Cuba. But most have been caught in gill nets and eaten. You will have a MUCH better chance of seeing a permit in Belize or the Florida Keys.
2. No one area is any better than any other. The facts are that most of the Cuban flats that used to hold abundant populations of bonefish and permit have become poor permit and bonefish flats becuse of #1 above, with a few exceptions. A couple of exceptions to this are Cayo Largo and Jardenes de la Reina where after the fishing operations started up there, the netting was stopped and flats fishing has improved. Another exception are some of the very remotest of islands off of the south coast that the gill netters nor anyone else can get to - except for private cruising yachts.
3. Contacting or attempting to contact anyone in Cuba via email or otherwise frequently becomes an excersize in futility as email and even telephone service for the average Cuban is non-existant. However, most of the agencies (ie. foreign companies) who pay a licensing fee to the Cuban government for the rights to have a fishing operation in Cuba do have email (ie. in Cayo Largo and Jardenes de la Reina).
