I am married to a Cuban man. We just got maried 2 months ago and he located to California to live with me.

I have many questions....I would love to find out if there are any Cuban Groups or Societies in the Los Angeles, California area. I know he is in need of his culture!!

I also would like to know about markets, stores, restaurants, etc of Cuban heritage.

Also, his whole family is still in Cuba, he is the only one here in America. I would like to find out if there are places in Los Angeles, California to help with sending money or things/gifts to his family...if any one could help start me in the right direction or give me information I would really appreciate it.

Please email me at MssStasia@yahoo.com.
Thank you Anastasia

I'll try looking for some in your neighborhood online if I can. I do know of a cuban Resturant on the sunset strip near the Hollywood sign. Sorry thats all I remember because I go there only when I go to a convention and thats been only 2 times.
I live in Arizona.
Thats very nice that you are taking the time to find info for him.
Good luck Mike

Mike, thank you so much. I have tried to find groups on the internet but its a slow process and everything is back in Flroida, which is where he was living since he came from Cuba. I would like to be able to find a place where he could meet people, have some friends, and they would know of places to help us send his family things, be nearer to his culture, and understanding of each other, etc. Even though he doesn't tell me that he misses where he is from and not like being in a different environment, everyday....I can tell he does. I love him so much that I do not want him to loose any of his culture or feel depressed. I love learning new things but I am sure he is having a hard time. Especially because I do not speak Spanish, so the language bearer is tough. Although we have agreed on a lot of things to make our relationship work and easier, but I know at times it is hard. especially for him..in my city, my family, my culture..i feel for him. I love him so much, so anything I can do for him, is a small price for his happiness. Thanks Mike for responding. I look forward to hearing from you again and others.

Hello my name is Jesse Roman Almodovar. I am doing a play called Anna in the Tropics. This play takes place in Ybor City Florida in 1929. I am the owner of a cigar rolling factory. I need to research the Cuban culture as much as humanly possible. I really love this play and want to do a great job. I live in Los Angeles and was wondering if you would be able to help me out with any kind of information as to where I could go, in and around the Los Angeles area for such a thing. Restaurants, festivals, communities, anything would help me out right now. I already have the list you posted earlier with information about Cuban culture. If there are any more resources you could get to me, I would be extremely greatful. Thank you very much,

Jesse Roman Almodovar

Hi, try picking up the Cuban Yellow pages. It's great, you'll find any Cuban business in Southern California. I picked my copy at Porto's in Glendale. Buena Suerte con tu matrimonio. Chao
