El Maestro. Three times in his career he won Triple Crown as a hitter (lead HR's, AVG, and RBI) and as a pitcher (K's, ERA, Wins) in the same season!!
That's retardedly amazing!!!

Number 2 in my opinion All-Time if you combine his stats with Havana, the Cuban National Team, and MLB would have to be Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez Pedroso. Son of Arnaldo "El Duque" Hernandez Montero. Younger brother of the first successful Cuban defector of our era, Barbaro Garbey of the World Champion 1984 Detroit Tigers. Older brother of 1997 NLCS and WS MVP Livan Hernandez Carreras.

Guys, people from the “Y” generation will disagree with ya’ll. Omar Linares has been the best baseball player born in Cuba.
Here are some stats that back up my claim!
Carreras Anotadas: 1547
Hits conectados: 2195
Dobletes: 327, Triples: 54, Jonrones: 404, Total de Bases: 3842, Sluggin: 644, Bases Robadas: 246, Cogido Robando: 95, Carreras Impulsadas: 1221, Dead balls: 106, Bases por Bolas: 1327, SO: 675

Omar Linares Izquierdo = The Most Overrated Baeball Player in History.
Linares played 10 seasons? Not very long of a career. Look up Martin DiHigo's stats and learn for yourself. How about we compare Mr. Linares to a true baseball great like Rickey Henderson...okay, so he's not Cuban...who cares. He played until he was almost 50 and his stats are WAY better. Omar Linares played his entire career with an aluminum bat...hardly the Major League standard. The guy retired before he was 30! He went to play in the Japanese Major League for 2 years with the Chunichi Dragons. Over 2 seasons he barely batted over a .220 average. At only 29 years old! That's pretty worthless if you ask me. I can think of plenty cubans in Cuba and in the major leagues who could've done better than that. Everyone touts Omar Linares because of the hype they hear. Just like they get all hot over Yuliesky Gourriel. Whatever.
