Hi all, i'm flying to Cuba to get married in may 08. As an enthusiastic fly fisher i willl be secretly packing my travel 7/8 weight fly rod and gear. I normally fish for trout and grayling in uk. I am hoping to find some bonefishing or highland type river fishing. Seems like the best bonefish flats are in the west of Cuba or is the bay of pigs an option? I am willing to travel a few hours by taxi but i cant fly to the other end of the island as the future wife will be mad enough when she finds the fly rod!!!

Any info much appreciated.

Thanks

My advice - pack 2 rods and take her with you when you go fishing! And if you don't want to do that, are you sure you want to get married?

Theres a wedding party of 26 and rising so i'm sure she can spend the day drinking with her mates. So do you have any real advice?

I guess we do things different in North America from Scotland. We usually spend the honeymoon with our new spouse.

i got a fishing question...i want to buy my friend a fishing rod and i haven't a clue what to get....he is an avid fisher....loves it ..his fishing though is for food and not sport so....can anyone help me...i don't want to buy a state of the art fishing rod but not a cheapo either...because i have a lot of personal gifts to bring in August and need to spread my doe out. appreciate any advice you enthusiastic fisher guys can give me........

FYI, he's never owned a fishing rod in his life, and has always wanted one.

fishes with string and his finger....amazing!
