Tell you what Steve i couldn't have put it better myself mate,if funds allow etc its the only place i would go back to,fishing aside the people made much of the holiday for us,i've never met such friendly, warm folk anywhere else, they have very little, and where places like america for example, you get that arse licking crap just to get a tip out of you,i didn't feel the cubans were like that at all, they are just good honest people(thats our experience anyway)were gonna book again for may next year, two weeks this time but with the downfall of taking the kids:rolleyes2 ,lol, though some of the lads from work are trying to arrange a weeks fishing the same time so should be a good crack
btw whats the weather and fishing like in november?
ian
Oh aye forgot, there must have been a job lot of fishnet stockings lol cos everywhere we went there was some little cuban honey wid some on.......oh how i miss cuba :smitten:

hi m8
the fishing is on par with the time you went, it rained the first couple of days (warm rain) but one day it was ballistic cold me and mark where surrounded by built up sunlonuges on the first outpost on the pier.
i was blue with cold so was mark, took ahour to get warm in the shower, but stioll had some nice snapper lost a cracking tuna as ive just been told by flipper (dancer) as he and mark seen the fish after half an hour trying to land it lost it at the end of the pier.
jonnyboy also lost a cracking tuna from the end of the pier this fish i did see mark had some nice fish snapper, cowfish, got somepics of marks fish somewhere, dont want to show you them as he gets so (bigheaded) as he is welsh you know boyo lol.
but as you know that pier is a lottery for fish something always hits you hard, steve+dave have a wealth of advice about this pier nice lads.
there is many workers at the melia, and the sol who have a wealth of knowledge and advice, about the fishing areas around the cayos yosmani, flipper, carlos, ismal, hanoi, alberta, daniel, rodgers, ect, ect, all graet people who will take you into there homes, and hearts, we have just paid with thomas cook to take another 20 kilos of baggage to help these kind people it not much, but i hope the itemsthey have requested will help and no before anybody spouts they are not fancy gifts, kindest regardsthe (wagger)

nice one mate, really torn where to go,we loved the melia cayo coco, and the fishing and hotel were great, but think there is deffo more fishing options at guillermo, just wonder what its like for kids there?11 and 14 yrs,is the snorkelling andy good there mate, they love swimming and obviously the happier they are the better for us lol, starting to put some bits and pieces away now so we can take em out for the locals when we go next, what seems like sod all to us,means the world to them and to see there eyes fill up over something trivial to us words can't say how good it feels huh

hi m8 the snorkling at the end of the pier, my m8 told me fantastic there was always people under the pier as this is where all the fish hide from there attackers.
the swimming pools are nice for the kids and the dancers always had kids with them did not take any kids as they get in the way of my fishing lol anyway they have all left home, when we stayed at the sol next hotel up from the melia i walked it twice a day sometime 3 times long walk along the beach so its the meliafrom now on.
dave +steve fish this pier early morning and the results they have had are great not tried it yet as i get the call from the bar and my head in the morning is stuck to the bed lol.
but will try in november just booked with thomas cook vip lounge, manchester, seats together extra luggage ect, not a bad price and we got them seats we wanted best on the isles without going premier regards
