Hi lads,

The missus says do any of you know any extra info about the Sol,like any better blocks,room no's e.t.c.When she booked they said something about hotel block but we've since read about bungalows?and could we have one of these with our daughter?I think what my better half is really asking is which rooms would be next to the beach ( for my early morning walk to the pier ) any info will be most appreciated as iv'e got to keep her onside.

me and my missus where right near the beach but in a block the welsh wonder kid mark was on his own just down from us it was very quiet but was a bit of a walk when drunk.
the bungalows where right on the beach front and where very nice you will bump into my m8 there ismail the gardener, and lester the gardener, hanoy the waiter and daniel the flambe chef they are great guys ismail is one of the guys that fish the causway we visit the hotel evertime we go to cuba to see our friends regards

Hi Waggerlad

We stayed at the Gaviota Playa Coco 2 yrs ago this November,its now called the oasis Playa Coco still not sure where this was in relation to the other hotels? We only saw the others on early a.m pick up on our way to Havana. Not a great fishing hol by way of fish caught but we enjoyed trying,only one small fish caught wading the rest small to med,Barracuda,snappers,grouper and one nobody knew the name of off the Hobbiecats.Then some good Wahoo off the deep sea charters(Marlin V) i think.It's probably a good thing we did'nt catch off the beach as i now realise we wer'e way undergunned 10lb line etc.Can't wait to have another crack.
By the way thats a cracking piccie is it you as a bairn?

the only reason i asked i spent my birthday 2 years ago in cuba at the sol in november fished off the rocks and the point got smashed by big cuda for some reason they chased the earth tubes i made also had some nice snapper.
we try to go in july+november every year as its her birthday (my rod carrier) and mine counting down the days hope ive not mislaid anything like clothes lol regards

Who needs clothes! as long as the fish are biting,rum,beer and sun would be nice too.

With all the rain thev'e had the channels behind the hotels should be full i guess.Ive yet to catch a Tarpon but it will have to be on lures i haven't got a clue about fishing for flies!!!
