Hi

I'm off to guillermo in a couple of weeks and plan to do a bit of exploring.
Is it easier/ cheaper to sort a car out over here (uk) or over there.

Cheers

Steve.

Hi,
Did you manage to get his rod fixed? was it a "shimano beastmaster stc"? i gave him one lasy May he told me he trod on it, well i gave him 2 shimano rods (extra heavy and heavy) 2 shimano reels and all my tackle, come to think of it he had my Nike trainers too.
We had some good fishing together, get him to hire a car next time you go, we drove to Pilar beach, the rocks around the Lighthouse at Paradon (i think thats how you spell it) and other rock marks mostly very early mornings and evenings. We hooked into huge Tarpon at Pillar rocks but never landed any, had one on for 15 mins though. We did catch Jacks and Red Snapper over 10lb, Flipper had a huge Jack or Snapper on at Paradon Lighthouse rocks but we couldn't get it up the rocks! (it took a large surface popper). I couldn't thank Flipper enough "if i'd paid a guide it would have cost a small fortune" i gave him my fishing gear when i left as a gift, i thought it was a small price to pay for the holiday wouldn't have been the same without him.
He also made a big impression with my two sons Nathan (15) and Sam (8), Sam would fish off the Pier and Flipper hook him into Garfish and Barracuda and just sit back and watch, (laughing) i don't know who had the most fun.
regards Mark

hi m8
yes its a shimano beastmaster stc 100grams not only did he snap it but he broke one of the large rings of it, i gave him my firefly heavy travel rod to use while im away. infact i gave him it and a load of line, leads, poppers, ect ect ect ect ect as you say you would pay a guide a fortune, so it worth every penny. we also got the full amination team a good meal out of the red snapper i caught, also the twenty odd cans a buccanaro, and 2 bottles of rum, bottle of white wine, red wine, and the ciggies we bought them on our last day there. you should of seen the state of them bad was not the word for it lol.
did you ever fish with yosmani, and dariel, the barman at the disco dariel had a bad accident in a wagon on his way home he was lucky to survive he broke his hip and ribs the other 2 in the wagon where not as lucky. dariel is the nightclub barman with the shaved head his brother runs the overhead disco nice lads, been in touch and dariel is on the mend.
it was our last day when the accident happened so i could not visit at the hospitial on his way home before, the accident he was shouting goodbye to me from the same wagon when i was fishing from the causway bridge with (mark the welsh wonder) and telling me safe flight home regards

Hello,
I never fished with Yosmani but i do know him, i was invited to fish with him and Abel but i couldn't make it. I was on kid duty while the missus done her thing,(nothing) "i have 2 boys and 2 girls then" (iv'e got 3 girls now, new baby girl 5 weeks ago) so i had my hands full most of the time, so i grabed the fishing when i could.
I cant say for definate i remember Dariel, but i spoke to a guy while i fished on the bridge, he said he worked at the Melia nightclub, he wore a hat so cant say if he had a shaved head.
When are you going back? we were going back this year but i think it'll be to hot for our new arrival, we'll go next year hopefully. tThe pier should be rebuilt by then too.
Best wishes mark

Hello,
What date in May? I might be going over on May 7th flying Thomas Cook from Gatwick, i say might but i have looked in to it. If so only me and my 9yr old (Sam) will be going, Nathan's got his exams in May so he cant go. My missus wants to Visit her brother in Canada "he married a Canadian girl 2yrs ago and now lives there" so we might have deal where she goes to Canada with the girls and i go to Guillermo with Sam, Nathan will stay home with his Nan. I would say i'd definately be going but i dont know if i can leave Nathan, he says he doesn't mind but i dont think it's fair, im even feeling guilty writing this! i probarbly wouldn't enjoy myself if i went without him.
