Baseball Web-Site to Open in Cuba
Havana, October 11, (RHC)-Cuba's National sport, baseball, will soon enjoy its own web-site providing ample information on the latest developments in the island's favorite pastime.
Cuba's National Baseball director, Carlos Rodríguez, announced Monday that the inauguration of the new web-site could come as early as this week. Cuban baseball experts expect the new site to receive about ten thousand visitors daily from around the world.
Baseball fans will be able to look up statistics of Cuba's National Series as well as find data on international competitions in which Cuba takes part. They will also have access to the rich history of Cuban baseball among other items of interest.
Next month, said Rodríguez, Cuban television will begin to broadcast TV-classes on baseball on one of its two educational channels, in order to enhance the knowledge of the sports discipline in a country filled with fanatic baseball lovers.
Cuban television will also broadcast the coming 44th National Baseball Tournament, which gets underway in November with six televised games a week.
