Hola, anyone know of any nice casas in the city of Santa Clara? After reading the other posts about this city, I think I'd like to spend a few days to look around. It would be better if there were two fairly close together as we are going with another couple. The other couple is Cuban, can they just pay in american dollars and stay in a casa near us or do they have to stay in ones for Cubans? We have always just taken day trips together so this problem has never come up. thanks. JM

I recommend you an excellent casa particular in Santa Clara. In a large and beautiful house situated in a residencial district that is 2 km from the center, the owner rents 3 large bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The bedrooms are equipped with air conditionning and the bathrooms are supplied with hot water. The meals are excellent , and the owner has a list of places to visit in Santa Clara and in the Escambray mountains.
Price of 1 bedroom (for 2 people) :15 $ /night.
Breakfast : 3 $ / person
Meal :7$ / person.

Hello !
I am back of another trip to Cuba and I require to inform you that the owner of the casa particular mentioned above ( Fernando de la Coba Castro y Yarelis Santos Perez-Carretera Central # 88- Banda Placetas e/ Ceiba y Bonachea- SANTA CLARA -) has officially stopped the hiring of rooms at the date of March 15 ,2002.
According to Fernando, the fall of tourism generated by the event of september 11, then the passage of the cyclone last november and knowing that Santa Clara does not have the same re****tion that Trinidad or Cienfuegos, obliged it to stop this business.
Bernard.
