Thank you everyone, including site mngrs, for all the great info. One additional question... Once in Cancun and either waiting or finalizing travel to Cuba, where do you recommend staying? Is there a transitory travellers area like Koh San in Bangkok? Thanks much!

@ $20 for taxi to cancun from airport..
depending on length of layover...i just sit it out at airport..
but have taxied into town to have a few magaritas at melia cancun pool! overnight...if i have to ...i stay at holiday in downtown! reasonable rates!
