hola just me,

i recently bookmarkes a site.. world cave database ..listed a number of cuban caves!
i just went to my bookmark and it is not there... i did a search... and came up with it...but link still did not work!
it seems to be linked in a number of web sites as a good guide for cavers! so maybe if you bookmark it...it might just be temporary problem!

I WONDERED WHERE I FOUND THIS LINK...my answer!

i beleive i got it from one of TJELLO'S posts somewhere else!
thanks tjello! TJELLO is the KING OF CUBAN LINKS! and i am sure if any one has links for this he might!

Hallo Just Me,

I thought that I had some useful links on the subject, but when I tried to open the pages, unfortunately most of them were not accessible (anymore).

So what’s left of them is listed below.
It’s not what your friend will be looking for, I’m afraid, but it might be interesting for him to read it anyway.

http://www.wsg.org.uk/
Click on articles, then Cuba 1997. Caving club in England with comprehensive report on Cuba. 1997.
And also, click on Cuba, for some more info.

http://www.italia-cuba.speleo.it/
An Italian site about Speleology in Cuba.
-The English version is at this moment (still) under construction. But if you like caving, or like to read about other people experiences, it’s a site to bookmark.-

http://www-sop.inria.fr/agos-sophia/sis/DB/database.html
World Cave Database. 17 of them are situated in Cuba. (not accessible at the moment) *

And finally, your friend could of course try to contact the official Cuban source for information.

Speleological Federation of Latin America and the Caribbean – FEALC.

BTW, thanks cubado, for the nice comments.

Not the area you are asking about - but there are several caves near Vinales.

El Cuevo del Indio includes a boat ride.

The Bellamar Caves just outside of the city of Mantazas are quite spectacular.

Thanks Bob and all the others who responded, I think it was Bellamar they were thinking of as they are an older couple and the other caves are more for the real cavers. They do look like they would be of great interest, but a little more for the agile. JM

Vinales has several tourist caves.

El Cuevo del Indio is very good.
