my name is Zaja and I`m from Slovenia and was on Cuba in Jule and had the most fantastic time in my life, unfortunately I fell in love in cuban guy like thousands girls before, but I can`t help my self, we have a good comunication, hihi I m calling him today oo I can`t wait...so in March I`m going back for a month to see, why I`m so conufused...I don`t know maybe he is the one I am waiting for, and if someone have experience about fell in love, or maybe invite a cuban on a visit, or if someone is married to a cuban, please tell me about this...I need some pozitive thoughts, because I will go crazy....

hello zaja!

You come from a beautiful country. I've been to Slovenia several times, Ljubljana, but also Bled, Postojna (?) caves and of course the nice restaurants at the seaside in Piran.

I like Ljubljana with the Three bridges, the river, all the beautiful Art noveau buildings, all the nice people, the big university, all the youth, it's a very "young" city.

Also one the greatest engineer in my profession, power transformers, come from Ljubljana: Dr. Milan Vidmar who was a full professor at the university of Laibach (the former name of Ljubljana as you of course know).

I know an artist in Ljubljana (Ursa) and I have bought two oil paintings of her and several nice candle holders and glass transparancies (two small glass panes with a decoration in different paper pieces put in between, very nice indeed.

Welcome to CM and I wish you the best with your boyfriend. There is a lot to learn here about relationships with Cubans and about Cuba and the Cuban way of living and thinking.

But use your head and think for yourself because there are some people here who do not like Cuba very much under the pretext of hating "communism".

yes I know this situacion need a lot to think about, but you know, my opinion is do what your heart want.
So I`m going back in March for 1 month. Language is not a problem, he speaks very good english and I speak a litle spanish, so we didn`t have problems with comunication and we won`t have...you know I live in so so smal country that I have to know more languages even just a litle bit...

I could be one of those people that some would consider to have a negative opinion about Cuba and her people. I met a Cubana a little over a year and a half ago. I did not spend enough time getting to know her. The culture differences are not obvious in month long stays as I had last July and then again in December. I put on my best face and so did she. It was paramount to fraud on both our parts. I told her I was from a small town and she said that is great; the town will not have crime like Miami. I told her no it will not have any crime to speak of. I even went a step further taking her a video of the town and everything it has to offer. She seen the video and said, "I cannot wait to get there." Nothing could have been further from the truth. I broke my neck to get her here due to crying about how much more difficult life was becoming in Cuba with each passing day. I fell for this crap hook, line and sinker. You must understand Zaja. All is fair in love and war. It is war for the average Cuban. They have in their mind declared war on the Communist Regime of Castro. They have no guns to fight him. Only sticks and rocks. They as a people are pretty intelligent due to the free education that regime provides. So they the "Semi-Intelligent" either attach propellers on the drive shaft of trucks, cars or whatever vehicle they can find. Get on anything that will float and head due west for anything other than Cuba. Now you are dealing with one of the "Very Intelligent" these are the ones that really know how to win there personal war. They learn a different language like English for instance. Then they find access to the Internet or tourists and that is where they become entrenched on the battlefield. The will fight to the last breath if necessary. The will win a heart and get off La Isla. The problem that they run into once the win the heart leave La Isla is they have no purpose anymore. The didn't really love the heart they won and life in a country that resembles there home in no way at all is not really that appealing. They always dreamed of going to a place that was like the people live on the Soaps. The problem is those are make believe even in a country as wealthy as the United States they don't exist. So they began to blame their discontent on the town that you have moved them to. It is because of this stupid town. That is the reason for my discontent. If we move to a large city I will be happy. That will do it move me to Houston, LasVegas or NewOrleans that will make me happy. I would like to give you the summary now Zaja but I can't. Get back to me in about 3 months and I will finish the outcome of my relationship details. For now this is where I get off. I have given you the whole thing in a nut shell up until this point and time. I plan to move to a large city soon and give it a chance. Good luck with your new Cuba thing. I will definitely warn you to be cautious with your heart you only have one.
